Hey everyone!

I’m writing this from a very busy airport, questioning why I thought flying at peak holiday time was a good idea. That said, I’m so excited to be heading to Latvia to spend Christmas with my family. I haven’t been home for the holiday season in ten years, which honestly feels a bit unreal. I’m really looking forward to having Christmas dinner the way I remember it from when I was a kid and actually seeing some proper snow. The UK this year has felt more like mild spring in December, so I am very ready for a festive reset.

Kind Of A Big Feeling

I’ll be keeping this newsletter fairly short, because I’m guessing most of us are in full holiday mode and would rather be doing literally anything other than staring at a screen.

So first things first. If you missed it, Kind of a Big Feeling is finally out in the world. You can now read Ivy and Caleb’s story in all its romcom glory. I know a lot of us are deep in a festive reading slump right now, and honestly, same. But if you’re in the mood for a fluffy romcom with a third act that fully leans into Christmas, this one is ready and waiting for you.

I’ve had a few of you reach out about the sprayed edge editions, and yes, they are coming. The first batch sold out on my website, which honestly still feels a bit unreal, so thank you so much for that. I’ll be adding more once I’m back, and Happily Ever After Book Shop will also have some in stock in January.

You can also keep an eye on my 2026 events and grab a copy in person. Meeting readers face to face and getting to chat properly is genuinely one of my favourite parts of all of this.

When Blood Runs Red ARC

In case you missed it this week, When Blood Runs Red ARC applications are officially open. I am so excited to finally be able to say that and equally impatient for more people to get their hands on it. Of course there are some nerves involved, but going into 2026 I’ve promised myself to get better at telling my imposter syndrome to be quiet. So if you’ve been wanting to read my dark urban romantasy that very much lives at the intersection of The 100, Resident Evil, Gossip Girl, Shatter Me, and The Hunger Games, with magical creatures and not one but two MMCs who are very much swoon-worthy, this one might be for you.

Author Spotlight

As always, I have a few incredible author shoutouts for you, because I firmly believe everyone’s TBR should be just as out of control as mine.

The winner of the newsletter subscriber giveaway is Danny H. I’ve already reached out via email, so keep an eye on your inbox. I’ll definitely be running more giveaways in the new year, so if you didn’t win this time, don’t worry. There will be plenty more chances coming very soon.

And that’s it from me. I honestly can’t thank each and every one of you enough for sticking around. Whether you’re new here or you’ve been here since my very first book, I’m so grateful that you choose to read my monthly ramblings and my books about imaginary characters who take up far too much space in my brain on a daily basis.

This year I’ve been lucky enough to work with so many incredible people in the book community, but the biggest thank you has to go to my PA, Lisa. She’s been here since the very first messy draft of When Blood Runs Red and has watched it grow into what it is now. Without her, I would definitely be having a lot more mental breakdowns and my socials would be an absolute mess. It also helps that we genuinely get on so well, because relationships like that can be rare in this industry.

I’m really excited for 2026, which is already shaping up to be very busy in the best way. I’ll be sharing more about my publishing plans in the new year. For now, I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season and get to spend it with the people you love.

Lots of hugs and winter wishes,
Patricia 💘
