Hello, My Lovely Readers!

We’re relaunching this newsletter on a monthly basis to keep you updated on all things Patricia Prior and what’s coming next for your romance fixation. A newsletter has been one of many things on my to-do list, and we’re finally coming back in full swing just for YOU!

Behind The Scenes

Spotted: yours truly living a double life. On one side, Kind of a Big Feeling–all small-town charm and rom-com chaos. On the other, When Blood Runs Red–a dark fantasy dripping in blood magic, betrayal, and the kind of tension that ruins lives (in the best way). Editing them at the same time? Let’s just say my brain should be charging overtime. But here’s the tea: both are officially in copy and line edits, which means I’m supposed to keep my hands off them now. Supposed to.

But you know I can’t just sit still. Word is, there’s merch on the horizon–five t-shirt and tote designs, plus very exclusive embroidered sweatshirts for When Blood Runs Red. Limited run, debuting at the event, and if you want one… you might want to sharpen those elbows. Oh, and rumor has it a street team is coming. Keep one eye on my Instagram. You’ll want front-row seats for this.

!! Coming December 15th !!

Book Three of the Hallow’s End Series

Ten years of friendship. One wedding. And a lot of feelings no one’s talking about.

I’m the girl who has it all under control… until it comes to Caleb Miller. My best friend since high school, he’s loud, loyal, and allergic to emotional responsibility. And for better or worse, he’s always been my person.

So when his brother’s wedding rolls around and he needs a plus-one to survive the family chaos, I volunteer. Because what’s seven days and one shared room between friends?

Except now we’re toeing a line we swore we’d never cross.

I’m still holding out for Mr. Right, and Caleb isn’t him. At least, not yet. He’s still figuring out what feelings even mean.

But somehow, the one thing I didn’t expect is the only thing I can’t stop thinking about.

Kind of a Big Feeling is a friends-to-lovers romcom full of bad timing, messy feelings, holiday chaos, and the slowest of slow burns. Perfect for fans of early 2000s movies, golden retriever boys in crisis, and the girl who always has it together—until him. Dual POV, first person narrative.

Cover Coming This Fall

And really, who am I if not the kind of troublemaker to drop a little Kind of a Big Feeling teaser? It only seems fair to give you the very first paragraph…

"I still can't believe you didn't fuck the artist." Amelia sprawls across my battered leather armchair, the smell of hair dye still clinging to her even after our impromptu salon session an hour ago. Her freshly-black hair–goodbye purple, hello power bitch energy–falls in tousled waves over one shoulder. The jade face mask she insisted on wearing is starting to crack around her mouth. "He had that whole tortured soul thing going. Probably would've painted you like one of his French girls."

The Kind of a Big Feeling timeline? Oh, she’s complicated. A little after Between Then and Now (February), right in the middle of Where Summer Left Us–sharing events, stealing scenes, and stirring up trouble in Ivy and Caleb’s corner of the world. And just when you’ve survived all that? She hits you with a cozy, cinnamon-scented Christmas ending.

Sure, you could read it as a standalone, but why settle for crumbs when you could have the whole cake? Start with Where Summer Left Us, and you’ll catch the glances, the whispers, the tiny shifts that change everything. Because some stories? They taste sweeter when you know the other side.

He was my first love. My first heartbreak. And the one I never really got over.

Six years ago, I left Hallow’s End to chase big-city dreams–just like James said I should. Now I’m back, burned out and completely unprepared to face the man who let me go.
Once upon a time, he promised me forever.
Now, he pretends nothing ever happened between us. But I know better.
James is familiar enough for me to know he’s hurting–even if he doesn’t realize it himself.
And I’m not sure I can walk away a second time.

Where Summer Left Us is a slow-burn, small-town, second-chance romance filled with childhood nostalgia, heartbreak, healing, and the kind of love that never really leaves you. Dual POV, first person narrative.

N.B. While Where Summer Left Us is a lighthearted story of love, friendship, and second chances, it also touches on real-life challenges, including mental health struggles (high functioning depression, on page panic attack), family struggles (HCM illness, parental alcoholism) and emotional growth.

Book One of the Hallow’s End Series

I came to Hallow’s End to start over. Falling in love wasn’t part of the plan.

Tucked away in a quiet cottage with a paintbrush in my hand, I can finally breathe. No boardrooms, no expectations–just a cozy, charming small town where I can be myself. It’s the perfect place for a fresh start.
Then, I meet Ethan. A steady, kind-hearted teacher who starts to feel like home. Watching him care for his little sister, I begin to feel like maybe I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be.
But when my toxic ex resurfaces, determined to pull me back into the life I left behind, I have to make a choice. Will I return to my old life… or am I brave enough to choose myself and the future I can see for myself?

Perfect for fans of Pumpkin Spice Café, Virgin River, and Practical Magic.

Author Shoutouts

And because I can’t be the only one filling up your TBR, here are two incredible authors you need to know about. If you’re on the hunt for your next swoony, stay-up-way-too-late romance read, these are the ones to watch. Consider this your insider tip before everyone else catches on.

He’s the grumpy small town local, and she’s the summer tourist winning over the whole town. What happens when he finally lets his guard down and opposites attract?

Juliette Campbell might’ve won the hit reality dating show Paradise Love, but it came at the cost of an embarrassing breakup splashed across social media. Needing a quiet getaway, Jules packs her car and makes the drive from Chicago to a small town in northern Wisconsin where she’s rented a cabin for the summer. The sun, lake, and fresh air will be just what she needs to get her life and career back on track. Jules intends for Golden Falls to be a pit stop, but she quickly grows attached to the town and its residents. Well, except for one person.

Wesley Richards is a quiet, closed-off, no nonsense kind of guy. He wants nothing to do with Juliette, whatever she’s running from, or those damn sundresses she’s always wearing. He does his best to avoid his new neighbor, but that’s tough to do when she’s everywhere—dancing at his bar, tanning in her bikini, and making friends with everyone in town. But once they get past the not-so-great first (and second) impression Wes made, he realizes just how much he needs the confident, sassy brunette in his life.

But with the summer months flying by, Juliette and Wesley are running out of time. Will their sizzling romance stand the heat? Or will their love fizzle out once summer ends?

The Summer for Us is a small town, dislike to love, opposites attract romance. It’s the first in a series of interconnected standalones taking place in northern Wisconsin during a different season. Be prepared for banter, tension, and spice that will make you blush!

Where You Can Find Me

Next month I’m making an appearance at Book Bazaar in London. Snag your tickets here before they’re gone, because it’s coming up quick!

Now onto next year’s events, because 2026? She’s already booked and busy. First stop: the Happily Ever After event at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool this February. Sold out–obviously. And while I couldn’t be prouder of Lana for building a community that can sell out faster than your last book boyfriend broke your heart, this one’s going to be extra special. Why? It’s the grand debut of my merch line… and some very limited special edition covers. Translation: blink and you’ll miss them.

And if you’re UK-based, you can even snag the gorgeous sprayed-edge editions from Happily Ever After Bookshop. They’re the kind of books you display face-out so guests have to ask about them… which, of course, gives you the perfect excuse to gush.

Then there’s Fiction, Fans & Ballgowns in Manchester this March. Yes, tickets are still available, but keep that between us. I’ll be there with When Blood Runs Red only, but here’s the kicker: multiple cover options. Oh, and maybe… just maybe… a few surprises that won’t be making an appearance anywhere else. Show up, and you might just get the kind of exclusive that makes everyone else jealous.

Tickets here

And for my overseas readers–don’t pout. US events are already booked for 2027 and 2028. Yes, I know… sounds like a lifetime away. But here’s the thing: the best surprises never stay secret for long. So keep your passport close. You might be seeing me sooner than you think.
