Hey everyone!

I feel like I start every month by saying “I can’t believe we’re already at the end of it” but here we are again. March has been a lot, and I am very happy to see the back of it. I’m pretty sure I said the exact same thing about February, so clearly this is becoming a theme. This month has been all about release buil up, a bit of burnout, pushing through it anyway, and trying to keep everything somewhat under control. In this newsletter I’ll give you a little recap of the release, what I’m working on now, next event, and of course a few extra bits in between.

Release Month Nearly Took Me Out

I have been building up to the release of When Blood Runs Red for over six months, which now feels slightly crazy when I actually say it out loud. I genuinely cannot believe the book is finally out in the world and that so many of you have already read it and loved it. I just want to say the biggest thank you to everyone who has supported the release, shared posts, shouted about it, and helped me spread the word. Seeing all your tags, posts, reactions, and favourite quotes has honestly meant everything. And a huge thank you to my ARC readers and my street team as well. You have been incredible throughout this whole process and I could not have done this without you.

The build-up to release was intense. I basically turned social media into a full-time second job, posting constantly (don’t even ask me how many trial reels I make a day lol), and not really switching off for weeks. By the time the 22nd of March came around, I was so tired and burnt out that I had absolutely no energy left to celebrate. So if you’re wondering what I actually did on release day, which also happened to be my birthday, I spent it spraying book edges for an event and eating a lot of food. That’s it. Very glamorous, very on brand.

But When Blood Runs Red is now officially out and available on Kindle Unlimited. You can also grab sprayed edge copies from Happily Ever After Bookshop, which come with a few extra goodies. If you’re based in the US, standard copies are available through The Crafty Bookstore. You might have also seen a hardback listed on Amazon, Waterstones, and Barnes & Noble, but just a little note that this is a standard hardback without sprayed edges or foil, not the special editions you’ve seen on my Instagram or at events.

And because I know a lot of you were really disappointed to miss out on the deluxe edition, I will be putting a small number of copies on my website on the 1st of April at 6pm UK time. As always, they will also be available at the events I’m attending this year.

Something brand new is coming this fall

Despite how chaotic this month has been, I have somehow decided this was the perfect time to start something brand new. I ended up shelving my previous project, which was the start of a new series with Brodie. It just wasn’t quite clicking and something was missing, so I’ve parked it for now. I know it’ll come back to me when it’s ready.

Instead, I’ve gone back to an idea that has been sitting in my notes app for ages. And I have to give credit where it’s due because this one actually came from Heather, who casually posted a story saying this would make a good book idea. I saw it and immediately thought, yes, this is mine now.

This new project is a paranormal small town romcom, and I have been having so much fun with it. It’s been really nice stepping away from fantasy for a bit because that has been very intense and dark, and this is just what I needed. Think early 2000s romcom vibes, but with a demon. The premise is that a human woman accidentally summons a demon when her cat starts playing with a novelty Ouija board, and now he can’t leave until she makes a bargain with him. Which obviously leads to forced proximity, ridiculous situations, and a lot of “stop tempting me” energy. You can expect demon x human, a nerdy and slightly awkward MMC, an independent FMC, and all the cozy small town vibes. The cat is also very much part of the problem.

I also already have plans for this to turn into interconnected standalones set in the same town, because apparently I cannot just write one book and move on. I’ve already planned the couples and I’m very excited to lean into the paranormal side of things.

Right now the book is sitting at around the 50 percent mark and is going to edits on the 1st of May. Yes, I am aware that this is cutting it very close and yes, I am pretending that everything is completely under control. I’ve also discovered that I actually enjoy plotting romance, which has made my life significantly easier. Fantasy is still very much vibes and vague outlines, so this feels like a nice change.

You can expect this one to release in Fall 2026. It’s meant to be a fun, easy read and a bit of a palate cleanser before diving back into Empire of Blood and Greed books two and three, which are currently planned for early 2027 release.

Pascify Con

In April I have my final big events this year—Pascify Con at Yorkshire Showgrounds.

Just a reminder that of you are coming, I’m taking part in a Romantasy Trail with a few other authors, where you’ll have the chance to win some big prizes. All you need to do is collect your trail card on the day and get each participating author to sign it. For every £10 spent at any of the author tables, you’ll get an extra entry, and yes, pre-orders count towards that as well.

Author Shoutout

As always, I have a couple of lovely author recommendations for you this month.

I also want to give a little extra shoutout to Meg, who I’m very lucky to call a close friend as well as an incredible author. Her Cursed Queen series is now officially complete and all available to read on Kindle Unlimited, which is both very exciting and a little bit heartbreaking because I am not ready to say goodbye to that world. I cannot wait to dive into the final book. I also feel very smug about the fact that I get to read her current work in progress, and let me just say it is so good!! I’m genuinely so excited for her to share it with all of you.

I’ve spent the last couple of days doing absolutely nothing and it has been glorious. I’ve been lying in bed, watching far too many films back to back, eating my body weight in snacks, and taking naps like it’s my full-time job. I’m slowly starting to feel human again and hoping to get back into a normal writing routine very soon. Next month I’ll be sharing more about the paranormal romcom, and I might even give you a little teaser of what’s coming in Empire of Blood and Greed book two.
